  • Staff Meeting:               Friday June 18th  (12.30p.m. closure)
  • 6th Class Graduation         Monday June 28th 1p.m.
  • Summer Holidays             Wednesday June 30th (12p.m. closure)
  • School reopens                   Wednesday  1st September 2010 9.20 a.m.
  1. Golf:  We were represented in this year’s Castle Cup Golf Tournament on Monday 24th May in the Castle Golf Club, Rathfarnham.  6 pupils played.  A big thank you to Mr. Lennon for his coaching of the boys and girls.
  1. Recorder Group: The group continues to make great progress under the guidance of Mrs. M. O’ Neill.  A recital for parents will take place on Friday June 25th @ 11.30a.m. in the school hall.
  1. Badminton:  Coaching for pupils continues with a mini league starting soon. Ms. Proctor is delighted with the standard of play.  We look forward to having competitions in the next school year.
  1. Hurling:  Our 2 teams competed in Cumann na mBunscol Leagues and while not featuring in the final stages the teachers are very pleased with the commitment and skill development over the past weeks.  Football continues each week for girls and our 3rd class pupils took part in the Ballyboden hurling and camogie blitz last week.  Our annual’ Glen Keegan’ tournament starts this week.
  1. Basketball; Our summer leagues are up and running.  We had a recent game versus Glenasmole N.S.. We have also visits to Firhouse Community Centre and Firhouse Community College for basketball coaching.  Well done to all involved
  1. Athletics:  40 pupils represented Scoil Treasa at the Annual Primary Schools Sports in Santry Stadium on Wednesday June 2nd Ms. Nolan and Ms. Monaghan looked after the team this year.
  1. Honk DVD: Our musical this year was a huge success.. An excellent DVD of the show was produced and on sale for €4.
  1. School Magazine: Our magazine ‘Treasa Times’ went on sale yesterday and is almost sold out. Congratulations to all the pupils who contributed to such an excellent production. A big thank you to Mrs. Sheila Madden for her hard work
  1. Accord:  As part of our R.S.E. (Relationship Sexuality Education) programme, the 6th class pupils had a day with 4 facilitators from Accord on June 1st.
  1. School Tours: This time of year brings us on school tours. The boys and girls will be visiting many places of interest:
  • 3rd Class      Pine Forest Art Centre           Wednesday June 23rd
  • 4th Class      Art Gallery and Aquatic Centre   Wednesday June  23rd
  • 5th Class      Causey Experience Co. Meath     Wednesday June 23rd
  • 6th Class      Avon Rí Adventure Centre Blessington  Tuesday June 22nd
  1. School Photographer:  We had our end of year photographs for 6th Classes (full uniform) on Friday May 14th. School team photos were also taken on the day.
  1. Incoming 3rd Classes:   Tracksuit/ Uniform sales etc. will take place in the school hall on Friday June 18th from 9.30a.m. until 12.30p.m.
  1. Booklists will be distributed on Thursday June 17th to all pupils. The booklist is an important reference as it contains all dates for school closures and staff meetings for the school year 2010/2011.
  1. Second Hand Book Sale will take place on Friday June 25th in the morning starting with 3rd classes selling from 9.45 a.m. until 10.15 a.m.
  1. Classes/teachers for school year 2010/2011 will be finalised by Friday 18th and all pupils/parents will be informed.
  1. Drumcondra Tests:  Well done to all the boys and girls on sitting their standardised tests.  The tests were sent away for correction and the results are back . Parents can receive these results from the office or a class teacher by appointment.  School Reports will be posted to all parents on July 1st.  Please supply a stamped addressed envelope for your child’s school report
  1. Summer Works Scheme: The school applied and has been granted funding for an upgrade of ceilings/lighting, insulation and fire safety in the school. This work will be done during the holidays and will greatly enhance our school
