  6. The ‘Mobile Library’  visits on a monthly basis and the 4th classes are using this excellent facility.

  7. Student Council: We have elected our  student council for this school year.  Eight pupils from 6th class will sit on the council.  Presently the students, Mr.  Ó Ciaruáin and I are in the process of drawing up projects for the year.  The council has been a huge success and benefits our school greatly.  The student council will publish a newsletter later in the term and will also have a link on the school website.

  8.  Well done to all pupils who took part in the ‘Food Dude’ programme. We have a healthy eating policy in our school – no crisps, gum, sweets, fizzy drinks, etc.

  9. Please check that your son/daughter’s tracksuit/uniform/coat etc. are clearly marked with name.

  10. Parking outside the school is still a problem.  We are very conscious of child safety, particularly at home time - 3p.m.  Some parents continue to park irresponsibly and as a result put children in danger.  At times cars and buses fail to pass as a result of illegal parking.  Please ensure your child crosses the road with our lollipop lady, Monica.  The Board of Management has been in contact with Rathfarnham Gardaí to discuss this ongoing problem.

  11. Confirmation for our 6th classes will take place on Friday March 4th.  A meeting for all parents concerned was held on Monday 12th October. An enrolment/commitment ceremony will take place on Saturday 21st November at 6p.m. Mass.

  12. Uniforms must be worn each school day. Please wear school tie. Ties available in school shop for €4.

  13. Tracksuits, jumpers, ties available and parents can purchase from the shop at 9.20a.m each morning.

  14. School starts each morning at 9.20a.m. A small number of pupils are consistently late. Please ensure they are on time.

  15. Many parents have changed their mobile phone number and at times it is difficult to contact parents when a need arises.  Please ensure that we have a correct mobile number for your child. It is hoped to set up a database of emails for all parents later this year.

  16. Up The Dubs!  A big thank you to Michael Darragh Mc Auley and members of Ballyboden St. Endas G.A.A. Club who paid us a visit on Tuesday last with SAM!!

  17. Today, as part of 1916 centenary celebrations, we had a visit from two army cadets, who presented the school with ‘The National Flag’ and a copy of ‘The Proclamation’.  This flag will be raised on March 15th 2016 as part of a school day of activities to mark this great event in our history.

  18. Many second level schools are holding open days/evening at this time of year.  Sancta Maria College Ballyroan have one tomorrow 22nd October.

  19. Well done to all the boys and girls for their hard work and good behaviour since September 1st.  Please keep up the good efforts.  Enjoy your break next week
