A Belated Happy New Year to you all. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Season with friends and family and that your New Year’s Resolutions are still going strong!!!

As you are all aware by now, the Christmas Fair was a massive success, not just financially but because of the wonderful community spirit that was fostered on the day. The Parents Association of Scoil Carmel and Scoil Treasa worked together and raised  approximately 7,000 euros to divide between the two schools. Mr. O’Meara is currently thinking of how best to use our share of the amount in the best interests of all the children. We’ll keep you posted! A massive THANK YOU to everyone who took part on the day - working on stalls, booking a space, donating goods and money, etc. But most importantly coming along on the day and adding to the atmosphere and the takings!!

And an enormous THANK YOU to Santa for taking time out of his very busy life to spend the afternoon with all of us!!!

The Book Fair is coming to our school this week from Wednesday 6th until Friday 8th  February. Parents are welcome to come along to browse and buy on Thursday 7th  from 2pm until 4pm. There is usually a wonderful selection of books and it is a welcome change to x boxes, play stations, ipads, ipods, etc!

For all you soccer lovers out there, there will be a raffle next Friday 8th February for Season and Family tickets to see Shamrock Rovers. (see attached note) The Season ticket is for one Adult and one Child. While the raffle will be held in Scoil Carmel, tickets are available in both schools. Tickets will be sold in Scoil Treasa on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th of February from 10.00a.m. to 11.00a.m. The tickets will be available on those mornings to Scoil Treasa children only. Tickets will be priced at 2 euros a strip and the winning child will be notified on Friday 8th February.

The Ceremony of Light for our 6th class pupils making their Confirmation this year will take place on Monday 18th February. We hope you and your families have a lovely evening and the Association will be providing teas and coffees for the 6th class pupils and their families in the school hall after the ceremony. We would also like to wish all of the children a wonderful day on Friday March 1st when they will be making their conformation. This is a very special day for all of you and we will be thinking of you all. - Bet it feels like yesterday that they were coming across from Scoil Carmel!

Once again, we must raise the issue of parking at the school gates. The safety of our children is PARAMOUNT. PARENTS are responsible for this too, and yet some parents constantly park in restricted areas thus making it quite dangerous for our children crossing the road. Our wonderful Lollipop Lady does an incredible job bringing our children across the road safely every day, rain or shine. Unfortunately, there are still some parents making her job even more difficult.
