Scoil Treasa Parents Association
Newsletter October 2015

Hello All and Welcome to our October Newsletter.  A very special welcome to all the new pupils and their parents who started in September. It is hard to believe that our first term is almost over and Halloween is just around the corner.

The Parent’s Association will hold their AGM on Monday 9th November.  All parents are welcome and it gives you an opportunity to meet other parents, to hear our fund raising plans for the year and to decide if you would like to join us.  A new Board of Management will come into effect on the 1st December 2015.  We shall be seeking two parents (one male and one female) to represent the Parents on this new Board.  We will send a reminder closer to the time.

We will be saying goodbye to some of our committee members after the AGM as their children have now moved on to Secondary School.  We would like to thank them for all their hard work and wish them and their children all the very best in the future.
The school has had necessary works carried out over the summer.  All windows in the school have now been replaced and the revamp to the school yard has gone down a treat with all the children.  We have various fundraising events throughout the school year and all money raised will go towards recovering some of these costs.

Congratulations to Ms. Proctor on a fantastic performance at the Strictly Come Dancing Parish Celebrations.

Our Cake Sale is being held on Friday 13th November in the school.  All donations of cakes baked (or bought) for the sale will be greatly appreciated and can be left into us in the School Hall on the morning of November 13th.

Our second fundraiser will be on Friday 20th November.  We are asking you to do a big clear out of old clothes and bring them to the school.  Liberties Recycling will pay us an agreed amount per bag collected.  Watch out in your children’s school bag for a reminder and more details nearer the time.

Once again, we must stress the importance of road safety at “dropping off” and “collection times”.  Please encourage your children to walk across the road with Monica (our lollipop lady) and park safely at all times.

HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
