Dear Parents

Pandemic H1N1

Scoil Treasa is taking all reasonable precautions to prevent the spread of this pandemic.

  • We have been in contact with the H.S.E. and Department of Education and Science re procedures to be followed.
  • Notices, outlining the correct etiquette, are displayed throughout the school and in all classrooms.
  • Teachers will be teaching specific lessons from Social Personal and Health Education Curriculum (S.P.H.E.) on hygiene matters.
  • Sanitizers have been installed in all classrooms
  • Paper towels and tissues are also available in all classes.

Parents are asked to support the school efforts by:

  • Encourage your child to wash his/her hands regularly.
  • Each child to bring his/her own hand towel
  • Advise your child in relation to coughing and sneezing. The mouth and nose area should be covered
  • Tissues, when used, should be disposed of in the classroom bin
  • Ideally pupils should bring their own tissues.
  • Parents should be aware of the symptoms of the flu and be vigilant in that respect
  • Pupils should not attend school if they display symptoms and medical advice should be sought
  • Information is available on the following:

We all just need to be vigilant and act responsibly in order to avoid the spread of the flu.

Please let us know if you have changed mobile phone number recently so as we have an updated contact for each pupil
Thank you for your co-operation in this matter

Yours sincerely,

Gerard O’ Meara     Principal
